Troubleshooting
Receipt scan isn't recognizing items correctly
Make sure the receipt is on a flat surface with good lighting. Avoid shadows across the text. If items are still incorrect after scanning, tap any item to edit it — fixing a scan is still faster than manual entry. For faded thermal paper receipts, try increasing your phone's screen brightness to illuminate the receipt.
App is running slowly
The AI scanning uses significant processing power. If the app feels slow, close other apps running in the background. Make sure you're running the latest version of Split Ease from the App Store — we regularly optimize performance.
Can't share results
Sharing requires an internet connection. Make sure the messaging app you're trying to share with is installed and updated.
Subscription not showing as active
Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store. Try restoring purchases from within the app (Settings > Restore Purchases). If the issue persists, check your subscription status in iPhone Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
Pro tips
Create saved groups for people you split with regularly. Your dinner crew, housemates, or travel buddies — one tap to add them next time.
Use swipe gestures to quickly delete or edit items. Swipe left to delete, tap to edit name or price.
Assign shared items to multiple people. Appetizers, shared desserts, or bottles for the table? Assign to everyone who shared and the cost splits evenly.
Scan before the conversation starts. The best time to scan is right when the check arrives — before anyone starts doing mental math or suggesting "let's just split it evenly."
